War leaves wounds that are not always visible. Across Ukraine, many people are carrying grief, fear, exhaustion, displacement, and the trauma of loss. Families have lost homes. Children have grown up under the sound of sirens. Soldiers, widows, the elderly, and displaced communities are facing emotional and spiritual burdens that practical aid alone cannot fully address. In response to this urgent need, Great Commission Media Ministries has partnered with Ukrainian Christian psychiatrists and psychologists to develop and distribute Recovery from Trauma, a Christ-centred PTSD and trauma-healing resource created for people suffering in the midst of war. Rooted in Psalm 23, the book centres on the truth that God is our Shepherd, the One who restores the soul. It offers biblical hope, practical guidance, real-life stories of healing, and next steps for continued care. It does not minimize pain or offer easy answers. Instead, it gently points readers toward the healing presence of God, reminding them that their suffering is seen, their lives matter, and hope is still possible in Christ. Recovery from Trauma is written by experienced Christian trauma specialists and grounded in Scripture and biblical counselling principles. Through trusted local churches, chaplains, and humanitarian outreach partners, it is being placed into the hands of people who need comfort, prayer, and a path toward healing. The need is enormous. Millions of Ukrainians have been displaced, and many are living with the deep emotional and spiritual effects of war. Churches are meeting people who are searching for peace, purpose, and restoration. As trauma spreads, so does the need for compassionate, Christ-centred care. Expanding the distribution of Recovery from Trauma is a major focus for GCMM in 2026, helping more Ukrainians receive biblical hope for the hidden wounds of war.
