Mega City Media Campaign in Cuba (2017)
In 2017, GCMM partnered with over 350 churches for a month-long Mega City Media Campaign in Havana, Cuba, launching in February and continuing through mid-April. With broadcast access limited, the campaign leaned heavily on campaign tools—150,000 campaign books and 400,000 brochures—distributed across the city and used by churches to connect personally with people and guide next steps.
Response came quickly. Within weeks, an estimated 16,000 people chose to begin following Jesus, and churches began follow-up with tens of thousands—60,000 entering a follow-up process and 70,000 leaving names and addresses for further contact. As the campaign moved forward, campaign teams reached over 100,000 residents one-on-one through street conversations and special events across Havana.

Prayer and Follow-Up Across Havana
Churches across Havana prepared for this Mega City Media Campaign with prayer, teamwork, and practical planning. As campaign books and brochures moved into neighborhoods, church leaders and volunteers gathered to coordinate follow-up and be ready to welcome people with care and clarity.
As people responded, the call centre became a steady hub for questions and next steps—the April 2017 update described the phones in Havana as “ringing non-stop,” with almost 40,000 requests logged by March 19 and a peak of 3,700 requests in a single day.
Volunteers also helped record names and contact details and connected individuals with local churches for follow-up—so the campaign wasn’t only about distributing materials, but about ongoing conversations and support through the church community.
Over 50,000 requests for "Power To Change" campaign books have been logged at the campaign call centre. Thousands more have submitted requests to receive the book consisting of transformation stories.
The call centre witnessed many miracles during the campaign. In one case a Colonel from Cuba's Armed Forces gave his life to Jesus together with his whole family.

Every City Needs This
This is exactly what our city needs. When churches fill with new believers and we see a harvest like this, we rejoice. What we’ve prayed for is becoming real across Cuba.

A Citywide Thanksgiving Celebration
In May, church leaders gathered in Havana for a Thanksgiving Celebration—an opportunity to give thanks for what had taken place and to strengthen unity across the churches. Pastors representing 35 denominations came together, reflecting the shared ownership local churches carried throughout the campaign.
In the weeks that followed, many churches described a noticeable shift inside their congregations: new faces arriving, growing participation, and home cell groups multiplying. Leaders reported that demand for the campaign book outpaced supply, and some churches began organizing ongoing discipleship for those who had recently connected—turning early interest into steady community life.
